Attorney for Essexville man charged as part of Bay City drug conspiracy asks federal judge to suppress evidence
To clarify: at the time of his most recent arrest the man in question was on parole for kidnapping and assault. He was in fact carrying drugs. He sounds like a shady character who has done nasty things. That does not, however, deprive him of his rights, one of which is the right not to be randomly stopped, questioned, and searched by police with no warrant or immediate probable cause.
Ah, for the days when Bay City was full of white Catholics who mowed their lawns! Back then, law-abiding Polacks could rough up and detain anyone, at any time, for the crime of Looking Suspicious. perles appears unaware that there is a distinction between "municipal police force" and "vigilante justice."
